I’ve been making an effort to be present, which is proving to be a big challenge. I’ve noticed that when I dislike something, I zoom back to that past trauma and want pull all those hurt feelings into the current situation. But that’s not fair to ME! The real solution is to release the old situation(s) and evaluate the current situation independently. (And also to seek the lesson in the experience.)
As Reiki helped me balance myself in a state of homeostasis this morning, this wonderful feeling of clarity, relaxation, and happiness came over me. I felt a blockage release, that allowed so much clarity and relieved a lot of my worrying and stress.
My daughter and I have been talking about distractions lately. Things that you focus on to forget about the real stress you have within yourself. In my case that would be expansion of my spiritual work, moving my daughter across country, another daughter still in college and all the financial concerns that go with each one…
Then I remembered sometimes we take things personal when they aren’t. So we really have a choice regarding our reaction. A friend of mine told me that her husband’s advice often is “adapt and move on”. One may think it means you stay in the crappy situation, but I feel it means you adapt to the current situation to develop your game plan and then you move on to something better.
I’m adapting to my current situations, and moving on to something that makes you feel more fulfilled, free, enlightened and balanced.
